Rock Report review
Back in 2008 the guys of Eclipse asked us if we were ready to rock; today they let us bleed & scream of joy. And it's easy to see (or better: hear) why: they've just delivered a fantastic album, featuring 11 songs that scream to be played loud. "Are You Ready To Rock" was already a damn fine platter, so I think it must have been hard for Erik Mårtensson and his band members to top this release. But knowing that Erik wrote great songs for the likes of Giant, Toby Hitchcock, Jimi Jamison and W.E.T., I was almost sure that nothing could go wrong in the songwriting department. Co-songwriter and guitarist Magnus Henriksson comments: "We knew we had to do everything better on this album. If we couldn't have achieved that, we never would have released it! But boy did it turn out well! When it was taking shape, we realized this was to be a monster of an album!" And what a monster it is indeed! Picking tracks is as difficult as choosing your favourite child, but for the moment I'm very fond of powerful cuts like the title track, "S.O.S", "The Unspoken Heroes" and last but certainly not least, the final track "After The End Of The World". Most of the tracks are heavy and up-tempo, but songs like "A Bitter Taste" and "About To Break" provide some necessary counterweight. Together with H.e.a.t's "Address The Nation", this is a serious competitor for melodic rock album of the year.
