Rock Report review
Strange but true: Frontiers Records gave some classic melodic rock bands from the 80s a new chance and they came back with flying colours. Some examples: Shy with "Shy" (#1 in our poll of 2011), Treat with "Coup De Grace" (#1 in our poll of 2010), Danger Danger with "Revolve" (#2 in our poll of 2010) and Mastedon with "3" (#3 in our poll of 2010). Can the same thing happen with "New Audio Machine", the comeback album from Trixter? I surely think so! Trixter released two good albums at the beginning of the 90s, but the change of the musical climate at the time made it impossible for them to go on. A reunion in the original line-up took place five years ago and since then the band has played a lot of gigs, so a new album was sort of a must. Creating a classic melodic hard rock album full of great songs, huge riffs and catchy vocals was their aim and "New Audio Machine" is all that and more. Some help in the songwriting department came from famous guys like Glen Burtnik (from Styx fame, on the opener "Drag Me Down") and Rachel Bolan/Dave Sabo (from Skid Row, on the track "Walk With A Stranger"), but they did not really need it as all of their own new songs are very strong. So, let you impress by tracks like "Dirty Love", "Machine", "Ride" and "Save Your Soul". A video clip of "Tattoos & Misery" can be found on Frontiers Records' channel on YouTube. Enjoy it all the way! Another excellent comeback!
